Travel Stories Today is written first for Kenyans who want to explore their own country and, in time, the wider world. That said, anyone who loves honest travel writing and a warm dose of Kenyan spirit is welcome here. Whether you are a student planning a first solo trip or a family looking for a weekend away, you will find something for you.

Are your guides really budget friendly?

Yes, and we mean it. We travel the way most people do, on a careful budget, so our tips lean toward matatus, campsites, community run camps and honest local food. We will always point out the cheaper path when one exists, and we will tell you where spending a little more is truly worth it.

How current is the information?

We update our guides as often as we can, and we walk each route ourselves before we write about it. Even so, prices and conditions in the travel world change quickly. Please treat our advice as a strong starting point and confirm the key details, such as fees and opening times, close to your travel date.

Can I suggest a destination or ask a travel question?

Please do. Some of our best stories began as a reader question. Send us a note about the place you are curious about or the plan you are shaping, and we will do our best to help or to feature it in a future guide.

How does Travel Stories Today make money?

We keep the blog free to read, and we cover our costs through adverts and the occasional partner link. This never changes what we write. Our loyalty sits with you, the reader, and we only mention places and services we genuinely believe in.

Do you sell trips or travel packages?

Not at the moment. We are a travel blog rather than a tour company, so we share knowledge rather than sell holidays. When we recommend a guide, a camp or an operator, we do so because we rate them, not because a package earns us a commission.
