Travel Stories Today
About Us
Travel Stories Today started with a restless feeling that many of us know well. We kept dreaming about faraway countries while the wonders of our own Kenya sat quietly on the doorstep, waiting to be noticed. One long weekend a few of us packed a small car, pooled our shillings and drove out to see what we had been overlooking. We came home changed, and this blog is what grew from that trip.
Who we are
We are a small circle of Kenyan travellers, writers and photographers based in Nairobi. Some of us grew up near the coast, others in the highlands, and one of us still insists that the Rift Valley holds the finest sunsets in the world. What we share is a deep love for this country and a stubborn habit of saying yes to the next adventure.
None of us pretend to be luxury travellers. We ride matatus, we haggle politely at the market, we sleep in tents and modest guesthouses, and we count every coin the way most Kenyans do. That is exactly why our advice tends to work for real people on real budgets.
What you will find here
Every guide on this site has been walked, tasted and tested by a member of our team. We write about wildlife safaris, quiet beaches, mountain trails, city escapes and the food that makes each region special. We also share the small practical things that guidebooks often skip, such as how to reach a place, what a fair price feels like, and how to travel with real respect for the people who call it home.
Our promise to you
We promise to stay honest. If a place lets us down, we will say so gently. If a road is rough or a season is wrong for a visit, you will hear it here first. We would rather lose a little shine than send you on a journey that leaves you frustrated.
What we are about
Travel Stories Today is exactly what the name promises. Every single day there is a fresh story waiting somewhere in Kenya, and we are here to find it and bring it to you. That is our quiet promise. Wherever this blog takes you, may your travels be safe, your memories be rich, and your love for Kenya grow a little deeper with every mile.
Karibu. We are glad you found us, and we cannot wait to explore alongside you.
